- Go alone. Do not take children or friends along.
- Greet the interviewer with a handshake.
- Make direct eye contact throughout the interview.
- Smile, be polite, and try to relax.
- Listen carefully. Don’t be afraid to ask the interviewer to repeat a question.
- Answer questions as directly as possible.
- Remain positive and enthusiastic.
- Talk about what you have learned from previous jobs.
- Highlight your skills and abilities.
- Bring along a “cheat sheet” with the names, addresses and phone numbers of your references and former employers so you are well prepared if there is any paperwork / application that you have to fill out.
